$1·         17/06/2013, Welcome meeting was organized for the student on which present were Dr.

Verges, Dr. Rialp and Dr. Capelleras. The Agenda of the Mobility study stay was presented

where all events planned an organized for the group were explained in details. Also, Mr.

Meysam Zolfaghari, PhD student was introduced to the group as support assistance during the

stay. In addition, orientation tour around the University was organized explaining all the

Resources available during the stay including the use of the password code and library card that

facilitated the research of literature review for the doctoral thesis and areas of interest.

 

$1·         18/06/2013-• 27/06/2013, Individual meetings of students with the mentors- professor Dr. Joan Lluis Capelleras and professor Dr. Alex Rialp working on the thesis outline in details. The research proposal for the doctoral thesis was explained and discussed. The most relevant authors in the field of external support were listed and the next meeting was scheduled with the purpose to determine the concise objectives of the research and to precisely establish the hypothesis that will be tested in the research. The purpose of the second meeting was to revise the work undertaken in UAB through utilization of its resources and setting up the hypothesis for the research. After supervising advise given on the work undertaken in UAB library for the two weeks stay in Barcelona, detailed deadlines were set for the upcoming year and a half regarding the work progress on the doctoral thesis.

 

$1·          19 and 27/06/2013, Writing Workshop by Frank Azevedo

The purpose of the seminar was to introduce and train participants in academic writing in the

following: development of the right attitude, systematic revision, start of finding and fixing

careless errors, knowledge of the weak writing tendencies, development of a search word list

based on them to use when revising, use of word’s spelling and grammar checker, revision for

concision, concise writing to take readers straight to clear, concise, and coherent meaning,

reading for meaning, learning to hear what readers might hear when they read author’s phrasing.

The Plenary and Closing Session gave an insight on the current situation within the GEM community, as well as on the future steps for the promising avenues and techniques for GEM based research.

Research project of students on Master degree studies were presented giving opportunity for the

students on mobility study to place questions, observe the whole process, as well as interact with

the students and professors.
